Product Description

Neoprene (Chloroprene) is an excellent all purpose rubber which was developed in the 1930s. It is chemically and structurally similar to natural rubber with like mechanical properties. Its resistance to oils, chemicals, UV, weathering , aging, and ozone is excellent. Compression set is superior to natural rubber and it is one of the few elastomers that does not support combustion. It will retain its properties up to 250 F. Exhibits superior resistance to gas permeability over natural rubber.

It is what it says it is.

For some reason I thought I was buying a sheet that is like what is used to make beer coozies, though nowhere on the page did it say it was anything like that. I gave it 5 stars because it is exactly as they said it was. I'd have to give myself one star though, for not paying attention!

Good material for protecting ways on Taig mill

This oil resistant Neoprene is the same material Taig Tools puts on their mills to protect the ways, lead screws and stepper motors from hot chips. It is Neoprene, but it is NOT spongy like a wetsuit. It is more like flexible rubber material that can be draped over machinery that needs to be kept clean, and it stays put. Cuts easily.

Good Quality Rubber

This is a 12x12 piece of solid rubber very dense and noy very flexible. Not to be confused with soft neopreme foam because thats not what this is.
