Works Great!

When the pump arrived I was a bit concerned about what seemed like a pretty minimal amount of suction, but I used it for a big pcb desoldering project and it performed great. Took a little practice but when positioned correctly it removed all the solder from the joint.

Experienced Reviewer of this type of Desoldering Pump!

I have worked with desoldering pumps like this one for well over 20 years! Having said that I would like to say that I wasn't sure what I was going to find when I opened the package, but I was pleasantly surprised to find my old friend right in front of my eyes, or at least a very good clone! Only this one was brand spankin' new, which I hardly ever saw in all those years, because I made mine last for over ten years each.
The key is to maintain them according to the directions provided, if you can interpret some of them. (More on that later). These things work quite well if you keep the pump clean and lubricated as instructed. I have tried many different types, but this type is my favorite! For one thing they don't clog up as easily as some do, and are easy to fix when they do.
One of the biggest surprises was the current price I paid for this particular pump....about a third of what other similar vendors offered!
And now for the one negative comment, (which is minor), the instructions had numerous typos which in one case completely obscured part of the instructions on how to remove the tip. BTW be very careful how you remove the tip or you will damage the pump! Beyond that just be careful to push the plunger straight in or damage could result. Other than that this is a very hardy tool that will last you many many years faithfully!

TRUTHFULLY, I'LL PROBABLY NEVER USE IT UNLESS I'M IN SOME SORT OF A SOLDERING REMOVAL PINCH. THE TIP IS TOO BIG AND CLUMSY TO REACH INTO SMALL TOLERANCE PCB'S. SPEND THE EXTRA DOE AND BUY A REAL, HEATED DE-SOLDERING TOOL WITH THE SUCKER BULB ATTACHED!
