It's a brass rod.

Actual: 0.3750" OD, 12-1/16 length, mass=184g
Anything close would have worked for me, and this certainly fits the need.
The packaging was astounding: the rod arrived in a sealed baggie, and then that was padded in a 2" diameter 1/2" wall 36" long heavy duty paperboard tube that one could probably use to hit a baseball well into the outfield. This system adequately protected the brass rod, and probably kept it from hurting the carrier along the way.
Zero complaints.
